FC Seoul head coach Ahn Ik-soo, 58, has announced his intention to resign from the club.

Ahn announced his resignation at a press conference after the club’s 2-2 draw against Daegu FC in the 27th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Nov. 19.

The draw marked Seoul’s fifth consecutive game without a win (three draws and two losses), and they are in fourth place with 10 points (9 wins, 8 draws, and 39 losses).

At the end of the official post-match press conference, Ahn read a prepared text that he called his “stool of resignation. 온라인카지노

“I believe that Seoul needs to change now in order to move forward,” Ahn said, “I was appointed to fulfill my promise and commitment, but I have not been able to achieve what I set out to do, so I am resigning. This is the end of my role,” he said, adding, “I apologize to everyone.”

“Seoul will continue to be a team that leads Korean soccer and sends a bright message to society. I will become a ‘guardian spirit’ and support them from afar.”

A Seoul club official expressed bewilderment at the news, saying it was “unexpected and unannounced,” but Ahn’s parting of ways with the club seems inevitable as he made the announcement himself at a press conference. Ahn was appointed in September 2021 and led the team for nearly two years.
