What a man. For the second straight day, Tommy Hyun-Soo Edmon (28-St. Louis Cardinals) hit a walk-off single and a home run to give his team a winning series.
Edmon started in the leadoff spot in the lineup against the San Diego Padres at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, on July 31.
On the day, Edmon was a force on offense. After getting on base, he stole three bases on the day with a flurry of stolen bases.
The highlight came in his final at-bat. With the game tied at 3-4 and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, he took a sinker from reliever Josh Hader over the right field fence for a grand slam (his 12th of the season) to give his team a 5-4 victory. The ball traveled 387 feet (117.9 meters) at a speed of 100.1 miles (161 kilometers) per hour with a launch angle of 27 degrees.
