Gimcheon Sangmu Under-18 (U-18) team member Lim Jun-young shares his thoughts on being named to the men’s U-18 national soccer team for the first time in his career.

Gimcheon U-18 (Gyeongbuk Beauty Arts High School) DF Im Joon-young has been named to the U-18 national team for the 2023 tournament. Lim is a left-footed, 186-centimeter left fullback with a strong crossing game. He plays with integrity and responsibility, helping the team form a solid defensive unit.

“I’m excited and nervous for my first call-up. I’m looking forward to the training and will do my best in every training session. I want to give my 100 percent and showcase my strengths, especially my crosses.”

For the first time in his life, Lim has been selected to the national team by age group, a feat that has been recognized by Gimcheon U-18 coach Park Tae-min. Park cited Lim’s sincerity as the main reason for his selection to the national team.

Gimcheon U-18 coach Park Tae-min said of Lim, “I feel very good as a coach. (Lim) has never been complacent in three years. He gives his best effort in every training and match. I think this has led to his selection to the national team. He is a player I look forward to seeing in the future.”

Gimcheon Sangmu U-18 had four players attend the national team training camp this year alone. Except for goalkeeper Lee Si-heon, three of them – Kim Jung-hoon, Shim Yeon-won, and Lim Jun-young – are all defenders. 메이저사이트

When asked about the Gimcheon defense’s successive call-ups, Lim Jun-young said, “The coach tells the defenders to compete in good faith. Implementing the coach’s words helped me improve my teamwork and individual skills.”

Meanwhile, Lim’s U-18 team will hold a three-day domestic training camp at Paju NFC on September 24.
