Professional soccer’s K League 1 has surpassed 2 million spectators in a single season for the first time since it began tracking paid attendance.
The Korea Professional Football Association announced on Tuesday that after four matches in the 32nd round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023, the league recorded a paid attendance of 2,046,889 out of 190 games played this season. 레모나토토
The K League has been collecting paid attendance since 2018. The previous high was 1,827,061 for 228 games in 2019. However, this season, despite playing nearly 40 fewer games than in all of 2019, the league has surpassed 2 million spectators, making new history.
Since the inception of the K League in 1983, it was the first time in 10 years that the regular season exceeded 2 million spectators since 2013, before paid spectators were counted (including free).
