West Ham United ace Jared Bowen, 26, has opted to stay at the club rather than move to a big club. He has signed a new long-term contract with the Hammers after rejecting interest from Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal.
European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on social media on Monday (Aug. 8), “Bowen has agreed to a new long-term contract with West Ham. Everything is finalized and after his call-up to the England national team, there is another piece of good news for him,” he said exclusively.
Bowen, who joined West Ham in 2020 after spells at Hereford United and Hull City, is one of the Premier League’s most sought-after flankers. Possessing excellent ambidexterity and an unorthodox style of play, he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 Premier League games in 2021/22, helping the Hammers to a 10-10 record. 메이저놀이터
In 2022/23, he helped West Ham win the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL). Bowen’s consistent performances led Liverpool to target him as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, 31, who was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer. However, West Ham were determined to keep Bowen at all costs.
Instead, Bowen decided to stay and continue his career at West Ham. “Bowen wanted to stay at West Ham as a key part of the project and he agreed to the final offer,” Romano added.
Entering his prime years, Bowen plans to spend his entire career at West Ham. According to transfer market specialists TransferMarkt, Bowen is valued at €38 million. Taking into account the increase in value after re-signing, he is effectively a West Ham ‘lifer’.
Bowen has continued to impress this season. With five goals in seven league games, he’s off to a flying start. With Bowen at the helm, the Hammers have collected 13 points (4 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses) in their first seven league games and are a threat to the teams above them.
